is that just a rumor? it seems unlikely to me that the x series would disappear completely.

Not the complete X-Series. Only the X-Tablets such as the X230 Tablet.

It's just the tablet for now, though if I'm interpreting lead_org's predictions correctly, the entire TP lineup will eventually be replaced with things with funny sounding names like Helix or Twist or what have you.

I just a new X220t and X230t.... so i should be fine (although i prefer the X201t better with the higher quality build).

Not sounding like a "Lenovo Global Brand Ambassador" with statements like that haha. Any idea on where the rest of the ThinkPad line(s) are headed (X/T/W)? Or anyone know why they went from T61 to T400? Or X61 to X200?

It seems odd to mess with the longstanding designations of their core business product lines, and I'm just a youngster. I'm already turning over new leaves and currently considering a Samsung/Dell/ or HP if those name changes take effect alongside major product changes (or lack thereof, e.g. screen quality..cough-T430s-cough). Something in me would hate to see lenovo twist/helix on the bottom right corner of my laptop...seriously hoping they crush these rumors in a lenovo "unboxing" video.

Lenovo Edge Twist is already here, no one is using the original s230u designation. Helix is already a product that is appearing soon.

I don't feel the X220t/X230t is any worse than the X200t/X201t, as I owned both. The X200t lid latch I had was really flimsy. What would make the X220t worse than the X201t (only of the only X series tablets I have not owned).

When the Helix was announced, it was on the Israeli site only, dunno if it will come to the States.
