The x100e keyboard is good, but I'm curious why Lenovo didn't stick with their standard Thinkpad keyboard design.

Because X100e is more of a Thinkpad Edge....

I guess its more like because its too small to accomodate full sized TP keyboard, so instead of trying to fit something that is too big they found handier solution.

I actually find that the keyboard on this thing is one of the best ive ever typed on.

Although its funny that the bigger Edge models use a keyboard thats pretty much the exact same size, they're probably interchangable.

After having used an X100e for a bit, I have but two comments about the keyboard:

    1) It is *by far* the best chiclet keyboard I've ever typed on.

    2) It is the third worst ThinkPad keyboard I've ever typed on.

It's funny what a person might think is interchangeable when it comes to laptops. I remember having both 14" and 15" T42's. The keyboards look absolutely identical from the top. But on the bottom, the fixed screw posts are in different places. I couldn't believe they weren't interchangeable.

this is one area where Lenovo Thinkpads are superior to the IBM Thinkpads.
