i dont really trust the thinkpad "system update" program that came with the laptop. the software that manages all the updates for the drivers etc. it doesn't work half the time.

does anyone use this to update their BIOS? what do u guys use?

I would probably use the bootable CD .iso to update the BIOS. This is done at the pre-desktop level and should be more reliable than using system update. However, this will require you to have the Ultrabase or a USB optical drive.
Here is the link for the x200(s) BIOS 1.10 Bootable ISO.
The x200 Tablet uses a different BIOS file. x200T 1.05 bootable ISO is here. -
How do I set my x200 to boot from cd? I have an external. I'll prob try booting something else first. Don't want a bios update to be my first

Just select your DVD drive this way (it should be clear which one it is). I prefer this method because you don't always have an optical drive attached to the x200, and a BIOS boot order change would be inappropriate. -
I am a firm believer in not updating unless there's a need to do so.
x200 Bios 1.10 is out - how can i safely update?
