    I would suspect there are other LED panels with the same resolution out there you could swap it with, though you may not find another matte panel.

    This picture kind of looks as it looks in reality:

    Here you can see what is annoying: especially the fonts in the titles of maximized windows are much brighter than anywhere else on the screen.

    But I mainly hate that white is not white if I don't use high brightness levels.

    I would def say that is significant backlight non-uniformity, but not unheard of really. I'm sure there is some variation in this for the panel lenovo choose, if you complain enough you might get them to give you a new panel for free, but I think it is dubious to try.

    Are you guys talking about the WXGA X200/s panels? Are the WXGA+ panels the same?

    muhammad, please check out the X200 and X200s notebookreview.com reviews. There they have surface temperatures maps of both laptops. The X200(s) are a couple of the cooler running laptops. Don't have to worry about getting burned ;)

    @drwho9437

    Thanks for the comment. I'm gonna keep the machine and try to get a better display. I use the highest brightness level right now, the contrast is alright then.

    @Gallois

    The pictures above show the WXGA+ panel.

    @Oregon Library

    I have the same problem. The screen of the X200 is awful, I am so disapointed!!! My old 600USD Dell had so much better screen!

    My x200s screen has severe bleeding, both top and bottom. I see the picture above also shows bleeding; mine is worse. How are others?
