i am shopping for a second 8 cell battery on ebay but came across 2 different shapes for the battery.

the battery that came in with my thinkpad is shaped like this, also found this one. The shape is very different, just wondering why is that? was because of significant redesign in the x200t series?

The second link's picture is the design for the X6x laptops, they used the wrong picture.

so for x200t only, it's only the first one? the FRU number on my battery is not on the ebay listing, does that matter and would you buy that battery considering it's generic.

i wouldn't buy a generic battery personally, but i guess if your budget is tight, then you could consider it.

These batteries are just shipped from China, so this battery you are buying is just a re-export. You can get one of these in Shanghai for around $200 Yuan with 3 months warranty.
