I have an x200 with the ultrabase attached to a Lenovo L220x monitor through the a displayport->dvi adapter. It's pretty nice, and I like it a lot, but lately I've been having trouble getting it to recognize the monitor when I dock it. When I first got it, I could dock it (while on) and it would recognize and switch over to the monitor. Now, a few weeks later, I have to dock it, put it in sleep mode, and then wake it before the monitor is recognized. Fn+F7 does no affect until after I sleep it, and lid open/close has no difference.

Any ideas why this is so?

btw I love the x200; my 11 month old baby can pick it up and walk around with it, I find this hilarious, if a bit frightening for the laptop haha (go go aps!)

Did you undock it properly everytime? At the moment... my dock is okay with recognizing my two external monitors... i'll keep an eye out though...

side note: the x200 is pretty solid.. if i had a kid i wouldn't mind him/her to carry it around for jokes and for kicks =) whatever makes them happy.

Yes, every time I hit the undock button on the side of the ultrabase, wait for it to say 'good to undock' on the screen, and then undock. Heck, if I don't, it warbles at me with a pretty painful tone :p

When I dock the computer and it is already on (not in suspend or hibernation), it immediately recognizes the dvd drive, the keyboard, mouse (the bu-dum sounds you hear with usb recognition) but not the monitor. I really haven't installed all that much since I got it, perhaps a windows update did something, just not sure. I would rather not have to go into sleep mode every time I want to use my monitor, though...

I find docking and undocking a complete mess with my x200 and the Ultrabase. Seemed good for a couple of days when I first got it, but now it's consistently out of wack. Almost always leaves the monitor initialized after undock, so the mouse can leave the screen to the other 'monitor' when it's just the x200 alone. Then if I turn off the 2nd monitor and dock it nothing but a reboot will get the monitor back. Enabling it in Windows has no effect. This is all with the 'undock' option in Vista, EasyEject was even worse.

try enabling through the Intel Software... I think this might fix everyone's issue...

side note: since you guys have the ultrabase.... if you guys have a Gigabit network you guys mind checking if you can get a gigabit connection through the base?

Ya I saw your gigabit thread, and I'll try to check that out for you. I have a gig lan but never actually checked my network speed. I wont be able to check for a few days, but I'll let ya know.

Which intel software are you referring to?

Also, I got only 100Mbs when plugged in from the ultrabase to my actiontec mi424-wr verizon fios router, but I don't think it's gigabyte so take that with a grain of salt.

    thanks in advance.

the intel graphics software.. for your intel video card! actually i think your router is gigabit... can you try attaching it directly to your laptop to see if you get gigabit? And you're using CAT5e or CAT6 cable right?
