i got one of the first x200's. i have had a few minor issues with the fingerprint scanner, and some vista annoyances, but this wifi issue is a real problem. signal drops out from time to time and sometimes cant even find the router after it loses its connection. i have the 5100 agn radio. i updated my drivers per the intel site but that only exacerbated the problem. then, after speaking with a lenovo rep installed the lenovo drivers again. still no solution. any ideas?

Sorry, I've got the non-intel-standard-cheapie-wifi and it's been working well, with no problems so far. A little warm occasionally, but no drops, or anything.

Though, I've gotta second you on the Finger Print Scanner going wonky. I find that occasionally out of hibernate or suspend it just doesn't work right. Sometimes it doesn't recognize any fingerprint scanning, other times it just hangs.

I think I had it drop once...but I haven't had any other issues so I won't consider it a problem for me because it does not replicate itself. Sorry :\.

I'm having a have a theory on the finger print scanner, that I'm going to try out. I think it may be partly Norton/Symantic Anti-virus' fault (cuz I've had weird problems cause by the anti-virus program in the past). So since I'm done past the set up phase of my computer, I'm going to try running a week or so without the anti-virus, and see if that helps.

I also have the 5100 on a X200 and my signal drops from time to time and then the only solution is to reboot! Even power off and on again the 5100 doesn't work ... anyone?

Well regarding the finger printer scanner, I only use it to boot my laptop and not IN windows.

I had this problem. Googled and the solution I found was to uninstall the PROset software. Then, go to the intel website and download the latest driver, and install only the drivers and not the PROset software. Havent had a problem since :D .
