Hello everybody, I noticed that the LCD cable that connects the screen to the rest of the laptop is actually visible! Something is wrong with it, but I don't remember how it looked before since I never paid attention to it.
Take a look at the picture and you'll know what I'm talking about.
The screen and the whole system are properly working.
It seems to me a failure of the small piece of plastic that is supposed to cover the cable and keep it covered by rotating with the screen. I have tried to push it gently into position but I don't want to force it and I am not even sure in which direction I have to push it.
Has anybody experienced this before? Can somebody please send me a picture of how that plastic part is supposed to look in normal conditions?
Thank you!

It looks ok - sorry I do not have a camera with me, but I just looked at mine and it's exactly the same as in your picture; it's the most common way to connect the LCD screen for ThinkPads, though newer ones like the T410s have the LCD cable routed through the hinge.
So you can chill out now -
looks perfectly fine to me.

Thank you cosma12 and erik for your inputs.
Unfortunately I'm not convinced yet. I know for sure that I could not see the cable exposed like that before.
I'll try to find another x200s somewhere and take a pic, so you can appreciate the difference. -
My x200s has always looked like that.
Notebookcheck's looks like that,
So does Laptopmag's. -
this is from official X200 product photography:
what you see is a plastic piece that protects the LCD cable and swivels with the LCD assembly when it hinges. these have been on ThinkPads for over a decade. having had 250+ ThinkPad systems cross my desk since 1992, i can say with 100% certainty that what you posted in your photo is perfectly fine. -
Guys, what can I say, these pictures are incontrovertible evidence. And still I believe I see something different compared to few days ago.
My memory fails me, not a nice realization.
Anyway, thank you again.
