I'm running into what are clearly hardware problems on my x200s. The machine gets into a state whereby a POST takes EXACTLY 10 minutes. During that 10 minute period, the screen is blank (not even powered on), after which it POSTs then boots normally. It seems like a timeout of some sort.

Now, here's the interesting part -- I can clear up the issue by removing the CMOS battery. Then, the system behaves as I'd expect without any delays during reboots/power cycles until the condition is triggered again. Seems like the trigger is during an attempt to go into standby mode. It will fail to do so, after which I'm in this broken state until I pull the CMOS battery again.

My question is, do I have a bad motherboard or CMOS battery? This only started happening the past 2-3 months and seems to have nothing to do with the OS. Has anyone else run into this issue? I'm running without the CMOS battery at all as a workaround, though I am not sure what the side effects of this will be. Seems like it would only matter if I completely lost power to the laptop (fully drained battery and not plugged in).

Would appreciate any feedback or suggestions.
