I am typing this on my new X200s !! Miracles do happen.
Ok some first impressions:
Very light machine
excellent keyboard (bettee than both T61 and T400)
I hope it is CCFL but think we checked that
Nice layout
Getting used to trackpoint easier than I thought
UPDATE: The HDD could be quieter but that can be replaced
Negatives: Screen hinges could be tighter I hope they stay with time
Battery a bit loose bit that really is being pedantic as it has never bothered me.
Screen: Well it's ok but I do see the video playback issue. Ghosting and some artefacts that do NOT occur on my T61. That is a shame. Can live with it but will see may need new and better screen. UPDATE: Can't live with it ! Ok now the big question is the ghosting the screen quality or the Intel Graphics card ? Having said that my Samsung Netbook plays the movies perfectly fine without a glitch or ghosting. Am willing to replace the screen but need to know that ghosting/artefact will be gone. Yes I know it's a business notebook but every business man likes watching a movie on the road... myself included.
OK the DPI could be a bit bigger for me. I have no clue how people can do 1440 x 900 on these machines. Can someone please remind me where to set the dpi a bit bigger ? GOT IT ... how does one custom set dpi in Firefox that remains in place even if you switch on and off ?
Overall a good product but the screen is a BIG shame in video playback I pick it up very clearly. I payed 800 pounds for the system and it comes full option with WWAN, the Intel 5300, GPS etc. Normal new price is about 1,800 pounds for this machine so I saved A LOT of cash, I can thus highly recommend the company Added Dimensoin in the UK. They sell DEMO models and it looks like new.

The X200s is aimed at business professionals, whom probably don't watch much HD video during their work time.

Can you link an example video where you see ghosting? I've never had a problem on my x200s, but I have the 12x8 LED screen.

a lot of it has been written on here a while back ... just watch a video and look at the blacks and darker areas ... instead of seeing full solid colour you see little blocks as it were like the screen is catching up ... but then again LED can have flicker problems and my eyes cannot look at it. I will chase down an AFFS screen to put in here. On the positive side I must admit this laptop is whisper quiet and very cool to the touch

Well I watched parts of a Bluray rip I have, "Memento", which even has black and white scenes in it and I don't notice any problems. Maybe it's an advantage of LED or I'm just a really bad judge of screens (very likely).
Good luck with the AFFS, the thing looks pretty amazing -

Maybe you have a better screen yes since there are several manufacturers of them and in fact the european one is the same as the US X200 series, with 1280 x800. My eyes cannot stand LED so I did not have much of a choice.

Maybe a stupid query but when one goes from battery to AC is it normal that the screen goes off/black for a split second and that a Youtube or so gets interupted and then continues ?
x200s first impressions ....
