    In chronological order:

-Went to change SSD in my x201
-Changed it (like any other time)
    -Turned on laptop
-CPU fan went wild- I have never heard it so loud in my life
    -Battery indicator was low
    -Screen was black
-Held down on the power button to stop the fan, but laptop wouldnt turn off
-Pulled battery out to stop it
-Took battery out and held-down power button for 2 mins, then re-inserted battery but wouldnt turn on
-Tried pressing power on button 11 times (11th time holding for 30 seconds) with battery out- nothing

-With the charger in and on, the charging icon below the screen is not lit up :(

The only light which comes on is a tiny light next to the fingerprint scanner. This remains on (always did since I got the laptop I think) if the battery is in, or laptop plugged in to mains....

    Please help

    That doesn't sound good.

I'd re-seat the CMOS battery as well as RAM to check whether that gets you anywhere. Don't expect too much from any of it, though.

My guess is that your machine's embedded controller has gone nuts for whatever reason. Let's hope that I'm wrong and that you won't need a replacement planar.

    Good luck.

OK...one last shot: remove the RAM and try to power on.

    Does it beep 1-3-3-1?

If it doesn't you can kiss the planar goodbye.

Fried it's not BUT an out-of-whack embedded controller is not fixable.
