I have read the info in this forum on how to perform a clean install, but I would like to replace the x86 win7 with x64 win7 on my x201. I know that when you purchase win7 from retail it comes with both the x86 and x64 and you can choose which to install. Is that possible to do using the lenovo recovery discs? Or would that require an additional purchase of the x64 OS?

    Thanks.

It is not possible from the recovery discs. If you can find a Windows disc you key can be used to install 64 bit Windows.
