I am very tempted at this price.

that is very cheap, the same laptop is currently retailing on lenovo.com australia website for 2149 USD equivalent. You are not going to find a better deal even from a used machine.
-
That's a pretty damn good deal. 500gb 7200rpm and 4gb ram too.
-
I apologize to anyone who will be forced to buy another laptop they don't really need.

lineS of flight Notebook Virtuoso
Hmmm...I paid around US$ 1600 (including Win 7 Pro, 3-yr IWS/ Onsite and all applicable tax). My x201 has a i5 560M chip and other specs same as yours. I'd say, you (or whoever) is getting a damn good deal.
-
I paid around $1100 for a 3429 topseller model! deals don't get better than this!

Spent the morning buying 3 more x201's for salesreps. Been anticipating this drop. Had to use 3 different AMEX cards was the only problem.
I had authorized a purchase for 4 of the x220 when they release. Crossing my fingers Lenovo will have a deal within the first 30 days of release. If not under $1,000.00, they get x201's
This is close in comparison to the i5 deal they had earlier this year. We ended up with a few then
$ savings = $ earned -
Does it come with the IPS screen?
-
So are you going to get the X220 when it is first released or mid way into the lifecycle? -
-
-
^^^ An X220, fully loaded, for $692? A dozen to go, please.

Wow, nice price!
If I were in US and A I would definitely consider this one! -
Looks like the *deal* was killed.
Not sure if this is a mistake or what but hopefully the orders will fulfill. -
-
Yep, that's why I buy them in the US.
Although I don't live there anymore, getting them shipped over to Europe with the help of MyUS (or other similar services) still pays off. You just add the shipping and the VAT (which you would pay anyways in the EU), since there are no additional import duties on computers.
But do make sure to get a model with global warranty. -
These deals are killing me. I have 4 empty lenovo boxes in my office.
-
Gone like the wind...

Did anyone who got in on this get their order cancelled?
x201 with i7 $692 !
