Ultrabase supports up to 2560x1600 via the displayport.. Have someone tried the very high resolution yet? I am thinking of buying a x201s with ultrabase + dell u2711 (27" 2560x1400 that supports displayport), but I wanna know for sure that it will work good first.

I don't understand why it wouldn't? If the technical specifications say it supports that resolution then it should work.

i haven't tried the X201/s, but the displayport on the X200 with ultrabase can support this maximum resolution.

does a better GPU make the image quality on the external screen better? The gpu on x201s/x201 is in the low end, just wanna be sure its still good quality on the external screen..

I also guess it should work, but I wanna hear someone actually using it,

No. The built in Intel HD gpu's can drive a 30inch LCD no problem.
