i would call UPS to inquire about the hold up.
i would also call lenovo to clarify this. the best thing they can do is to refund your shipping cost. -
I believe it is 2 day shipping from the point it is released from customs in Anchorage...
-
-
Doesn't matter if it is stuck in customs. If any thing is out of order in the batch of laptops it gets held up.
-
Check other post it seem like alot of people is having this problem.
-
And I guess even if his was 2 days from Anchorage, it is still late. (Unless theres more up above what was posted) -
2 days is suppose to be 2 days. But if it is stuck in customs you can't do anything about it. I had standard shipping when i ordered my x200 and it got here in 2-3 days anyways.
-
yeah, even it's 2day from AK, i should have received the package in the evening of 3/16...
i checked the x201/s owner thread, several ppl have exactly the same situation, got stuck in AK and even the departure time is exactly same! -
wallmage just curious, what is your expected delivery date?
-
Maybe the customs person needed a new laptop...
-
i don't know if it means a) i'll receive it by 3/17, today or b) it'll leave the factory by 3/17 -
I'm in the same position, same status as yours.
Called UPS today, and they said IF it's cleared from custom, it will be delivered on this Thursday. -
just called UPS....got the same answer, he just told me to wait and it's supposed to arrive by the end of thursday
-
-
Yeah, I called UPS too. Turns out there's no such thing as "2 day shipping" for this kind of order. It's just expedited--and if everything's expedited, nothing is.
Anyway, mine went from AK to KY, another UPS dist./customs clearing center. Literally spent 2 business days there before getting shipped off this morning. Apparently, it's on schedule for delivery date of 3/17 here in CO.
Also, I called Lenovo about returning me the "2 day shipping" fee, seeing as how it's not really 2 days... at all. Basically, I need to receive the machine first, then call. Guy sounded like he heard this kind of thing all the time. -
The shipping clock starts once your machine has cleared customs. I would hardly define three days as "forever".
-
It's hard to be patient when you're all excited for your new notebook to arrive at your door. 3 days can feel like forever, so I relate.
-
I know it's tough. I had to wait three weeks for my X200, which was supposedly ready to go. When you post about how it's been forever and it's really been three days, you come off looking like a drama queen, no?
-
-
Checked mine again this morning and same thing stuck in Anchorage. I think when it first shipped it gave me an expected delivery date of 3/17 today, but now I don't see that info anywhere, so either its just going to show up at my house today and the UPS info is wrong or like the other people that have called and UPS said Thurs.

True, we can't say its stuck in Anchorage since the last update from UPS states that it left AK on 3/14. But I am surprised that there are no updates for almost 3 days.
-
My understanding is that UPS' customs checkpoint is in Louisville, not Anchorage. It stops in Anchorage on the way from HK since it is much shorter traveling this way than around the globe across the Pacific or Atlantic. They probably only stop in Anchorage to refuel and possibly pick up more shipments to bring to their distribution center in Louisville.
I live in Anchorage. My Thinkpad went from HK to Anchorage to Lousville and back to Anchorage. You think you know frustration? Imagine your new baby passing right by you and traveling another 4000 miles away!! -
mine is updated to

Look like someone at UPS forgot to scan them when it's arrived in Louisville, KY -
yup i got the same msg:
LOUISVILLE, KY, US 03/17/2010 10:59 A.M. THIS SHIPMENT IS WAREHOUSED UNTIL IT IS RELEASED BY CLEARING AGENCY
anything goes wrong with my baby?
how long does it usually take? seems that this batch of shipment all got stuck in the custom house -
Yep, same here. Oh well thought I was going to get it this week. I don't think there is any chance now. I don't remember it taking this long when I got my macbook 2 years ago and it came from China also. Anyway, we'll get it eventually.
-
if it cant arrive b4 sunday that would be a disaster ... -
I think the longest I recall customs clearing be is about 5 days. But this happened during all the last refreshes every once in a while.

what is this supposed to mean....
the "scheduled shipping date" missing again -
Oh boy, that doesn't look good...
My T510 was only in Anchorage for about 5 hours. It's now on its way to Kentucky. -
Yep, same here as well. UPS Internal Activity. No way its getting to my house tomorrow.
-
Check in the morning. I thought they wouldn't deliver for sure when I received my laptop once...but they flew it cross county and were at my door at 8am. I missed it because I was sleeping in (I was going to get up, but figured they wouldn't try).
You have to be there to sign and they generally try early. -
usually FEDEX/UPS guy just left the package at the front door if nobody's home -
They will not do that for this. Lenovo REQUIRES a signature. You will have to have them try again or you can have them hold it after one delivery attempt for you to pick it up.
-
I believe Lenovo requires a signature. It usually says so on the tracking page.
-
it's totally frustrated...i'm gonna travel abroad this sunday!
it got stuck in AK for 3 days, and then stuck in the custom house for almost 2 days...
just called UPS the 3rd time, but they have no idea because custom thing is out of their control..Attached Files:

-
Then why would you want them to leave an expensive package there. Hopefully they will try and deliver Thursday/Friday. They can hold it 5 business days...
How long are you out of town? -
but if it cannot arrive by sunday morning, 2 weeks later what'll happen to my x201s?? returned back to lenovo US? or return to the original sender, which'll be the facility in China???
come on it's just a commercial crate from China, not from Mr.Laden's hometown what are they searching for? an imported laptop takes more than 2 days to get clearance?
it seems a lot of ppl have the same problem...i checked lenovo official forum quite a few ppl are complaining the same thing.
maybe those hundreds or thousands of orders from a certain date range (3/1 to 3/5 ?) were manufactured and shipped together, in the same container? then in KY custom the nuclear weapon detector rang and we all got stuck? -
As I have said before, they ship in batches and if one thing is not correct for whatever reason it seems like the lot is held until cleared.
UPS does not deliver on saturday or sunday. You should find out with them. Maybe you can put something in writing to let someone else pick up your laptop if you have to. -
Here's a thought, not to sound mean, but maybe if you needed it to take on your trip, you shouldn't plan on a having it arrive a few days before you leave as something can always happen.
-
even if it get released a few hours later i cannot get it today
so friday is my only chance... -
I send good thoughts your way.
-
finally i saw "OUT FOR DELIVERY" in the morning, can't believe it
a few hours ago it was held in the custom house but now it's on the way to my house? after so many exceptions, delays, i don't feel excited at all. -
What did I tell you...
-
any thought on this? my laptop is imported four times
this morning the status said its on the way to my home, "out for delivery"
then a few hours later it was pulled back from NY to KY and got another import scan....
UPS tracking info is so weird!

Were you home? Call and ask if it is cleared and is indeed ready for delivery.
