2 day shipping means the point when U.S custom release your package

not from china

 

yes, sometimes custom cleared your package in about 5 hours.

but I had experience before, they took like 2 days...................XD

 

I believe mine is in the same batch as wallmage and mine still says THIS SHIPMENT IS WAREHOUSED UNTIL IT IS RELEASED BY CLEARING AGENCY

 

rats! my package was sitting in the same ups location for three days then instantly teleported across the continent.

 

That's what I was saying to you guys. When you don't think they will deliver it the next day...make sure to check it late that night or get up early to see if it is out for delivery.

They might fly it over night afterwards and try to deliver.

 

ups should have posted something such as 'it left.'

The saga that is this thread. My UPS status got updated tonight with a new Delivery date of Monday 22nd, totally bummed out. Hopefully wallmage gets his before he leaves for his trip. Or hopefully by some miracle, it gets delivered to me tomorrow.

 

Well, the status got updated again and now my delivery date has changed to tomorrow. Looks like customs finally released the strangle hold they had on our laptops. Going to bed now, we'll see maybe my status will change again.

 

dalma you got 2 updated status? custom house released the container at midnight...

mine is still the same as 14 hours ago, stuck in the KY custom house...

 

oh yeah.....got a 5th "IMPORT SCAN"
who knows what are those custom staff doing?? these ppl kept holding my laptop and kept scanning it...maybe my x201s is eye candy they like to keep watching it over and over again??

just got a 6th "IMPORT SCAN" crazy people....

it's friday afternoon, i lost my hope completely, totally frustrating
i planned to take the new laptop with my trip to Australia on this sunday!

 

Did you ever call to find out about holding it...having someone be able to pick it up for you...making sure it doesn't get sent back to Lenovo?

 

Over on the Lenovo forum one person said that UPS is waiting for paperwork from Lenovo in order to get the orders released from hold. Mine shipped on 3/11, so 8 days and the paperwork is still not ready.

Yes, pretty much. If it gets held up in customs clearing then something is not correct in the batch of machines. Additional paperwork needs to be sent, etc. This has happened in the past.

 

One thing that bothers me is that I got several delivery dates from UPS, 3/18, 3/17, 3/18, and 3/19. They lasted a couple of hours and then went blank. Most of us work and have to make arrangements to be home for delivery. It would be nice if UPS was more accurate about their delivery date estimates.

 

Ya, that bothered me in general. When UPS would leave a note about expected delivery time it pretty comes down to...great a 4 hr block. I bet you most working people would just rather have UPS come at 7pm. That is of course unless they would just leave the package. Depends on your neighborhood and line of sight to your door though.

I got a reply email from Lenovo. It said that the hold has been released. My UPS status has not changed, in transit with no delivery date. It usually changes around midnight ET. I will not hold my breath.


"...The delay was due to customs hold and for such concern it is beyond Lenovo’s control to release such kind of hold. I see that it has been released off and the package is in transit..."

Hopefully they just forgot to update the status, though I still have a delivery date for today, I'll keep my fingers crossed.

 

Just got off the phone with UPS and they don't have any more info than what I see on the Status page. So I am pretty confident I won't get my laptop today. Only thing I can think of is they ground shipped it from KY to CA, which would suck.

 

I'm in the same boat. Mine left Louisville on 3/20 at 5:53 am. It has not arrived anywhere yet, but the delivery date is still 3/22. Some CA orders went out at 4am on 3/20 and arrived in Ontario the same day. Did they run out of space on the plane? I will not be happy if they shipped this ground.

 

louisville might be using the same technology as in alaska, that is keeping it for two days then teleporting it instantly. funny, it would take about the same time to just regularly transport it if somehow we knew it left.

 

I guess your right cause it appears they have some new technology to take something in one state and instantly transfer it across the country to another.

UPS seems to be the problem, this is what I got from them, they call it an "Exception" beyond their control. How can the package sit somewhere for 3 days without moving and it be "Beyond their control". UPS is a poor mans FEDEX

mine arrived on monday, just one day after i left US for australia...my roommate signed it for me, so i have to wait 2 weeks until i return to us to take a look at my x201s

 

Now my T410 is in Anchorage. Hope my wait isn't as long as the others have reported here. :\

 

My x201s didn't stay @ Anchorage for long. BTW, I am very happy with Lenovo for receiving my x201s much eralier than their estimated. I ordered mine on March 13th, received on March 25th.

I guess my T410 decided it needed a nap after the long flight. 5 hours and it's still just sitting there in Anchorage with no updates... I really hope this isn't this fiasco all over again. OP, I really sympathize with you (though glad it finally got delivered to your door ). I understand what you mean by it feels like forever.

Edit: So mine will go all the way to Kentucky for customs, then back to the west coast to be delivered (I live in the Seattle area).

 

Wow, it had an import scan about 45 minutes ago, and has a delivery date for Friday (tomorrow).

 

My T410 just got delivered. I'm surprised it made it. I'll post an impressions thread later after I get it set up.
