I want to attach two monitors to the x200 ultrabase for my x201t running Windows 7 (64-bit). The processor is a 640LM running Intel integrated graphics (not discrete).

I've found websites suggesting that if I plug one monitor into the VGA port and the other into the Displayport it will just work, but I've seen a few sites suggesting that this depends on what graphics processor you're running. Is the integrated graphics chip in the 640LM capable of supporting two monitors? If so, is there some way of calculating what the max rez would be on each of the two monitors, so I don't buy the wrong monitor?

yes they are capable of supporting two monitors. There is no discrete GPU option on the X series.

The Displayport (if you are using DVI out single link then it is WUXGA, if you use the displayport to dvi dual link converter than it is WQXGA) is capable of supporting WQXGA (30 inch LCD) and the VGA out is capable of supporting 2084 x 15xx resolution, basically little bit higher resolution than the standard 24 inch LCD.

I'm trying to do this, however I am not getting any output out of the VGA monitor. Is there a setting that I need to adjust somewhere?

I have two very old Samsung 19" monitors (non-matching), one connected via DVI (via DisplayPort) and the other via VGA.

Yes, make sure the internal LCD is disabled. You can't drive three displays.

Ok, seems like the only way to do it is to first make one of the other monitors primary. I'm not sure I'll be able to automatically have this be the default behavior when docked. I have a bitlocker pin that loads up on boot, which I haven't been able to fill using my usb keyboard when in the ultrabase dock. Maybe the solution is one massive LCD instead of two old 19" ones :)
