I would like to address the performance and further issues surrounding the 128gb
SSD option lenovo has on the x220.
There are two varieties of this SSD which Lenovo offers under the option:
-128 GB Solid State Drive, Serial ATA
These drives are:
SAMSUNG MZ7PA128HMCD-010L1
&
TOSHIBA THNSNC128GCSJ
I purchased the 128 GB drive, I received the Toshiba. Below are the benchmarks, disappointing 4k performance...

the hard disk score was: 6.9 (got cut off)
The WEI score for the hard disk was quite surprising for a SSD...

The Samsung drive benchmarks... with benchmarks for a stock HD on the left and the intel 160gb drive on the right
from: <http://www.the-hikaku.com/pc/lenovo/ThinkPad-X220-4.html>

WEI scores for the Samsung drive are 7.6-7.7, the source above got a 7.6.
Conclusion:
The there seems to be an inequality in the performance offered by the two
drives Lenovo casts under the same name. I won't say the 128 gb SSD option
is a bad choice, but for $280 extra I would have expected performance like
that of the samsung in both drives.
Feel free to post benckmarks from other SSD drives whether one of the 128gb options or some other drive.
