My charging adapter was HOT. So hot that I couldn't hold it, the sticker was starting to bubble and probably because the adhesive was reacting to the heat.
Is it ok for the adapter to be that hot? You guys experiencing the same?

No I am not.
If the sticker is starting to bubble, there's definitely something wrong there. -
I guess I was charging my battery from 20% to full, while having it at high performance setting. Just seems the 65w adapter can't handle all the power the computer needs.

The BIOS knows the power rating of the PSU (it is reported by Power Manager) and should manage the maximum power demand accordingly by, if necessary, reducing the battery charge rate.
However, the maximum power demand shouldn't be much over 65W: The CPU package is rated at 35W, add 10W for the rest of the hardware and allow 25W for the maximum battery charge rate (that's about what it is on my T420s) which add up to 70W, which isn't much of an overload.
I would take the view that if the label has started to bubble then it's defective.

John, from your power additions, it seems like there is not much need for the 90W PSU.

I was watching the power consumption at the mains socket while running at PCMark Vantage. It peaked at 65W but was usually below 60W. The PSU got warm, but not hot.
