Audio seems to work fine but for the life of me cant start the Conexant Smart Audio Panel which worked when i first got the machine but hasnt been been working since i reinstalled.

Audio works fine but i need to access the control panel to access display port audio settings. Displayport audio is not listed under sound devices either. Would love to fix this issue.

Smartaudio icon appears in control panel but gives error message, attempting to open file directly through program files results in the same error message. Quick google would lead me to believe that tis is common issue amongst thinkpads.

    Help Please.

EDIT: if someone could post an older version of the driver i think that would solve the problem currently i have 8.32.23.2 installed as that is the only one available on lenovo's support site.

Do you have an external sound card installed?

Not for a few months...previously i had a 7.1 external usb card that i used for surround sound but no longer. Currently i have only two devices under my sound properties, the default conexant hd audio and a pair of bluetooth speakers that are rarely used that are not the default device.

I believe if i can enter the control panel i may be able to control options relating to sound from the display port.

I had exactly the same issue when I had an external USB soundcard installed. Maybe try deactivating/removing the BT speakers?

I will try that! Im overdue for a complete overhaul anyways...lets hope it all works out. After searching around the internet it seems that it may be a driver packaging issue from lenovo. Thanks.

    Hi,

I'm having a very similar problem. Is there any updates on this? Or a link where to download an older version of the driver?

    Thanks,

    L.
