    Worse actually.
Sent in my less than a year old x220 for getting the "fan error". At this point the fan still worked, it just got the error.

Sent it in and after a day or two got the error again and this time the fan is completely dead. I am so angry, how flipping hard is it to fix a damn fan?

it is probably a motherboard issue.

The last time they sent it back the workorder said motherboard/fan replaced.
Not sure if that means they replaced the whole MB.

hum, you probably need to send it in again.

Tell them that the problem wasn't fixed the first time.

    Well, the plot sickens.
I sent the x220 in for a second time for a fan error. Got it back and after a week I am getting the FAN ERROR again.
Last time I spoke to them I demanded a year warranty extension and was told that I got it. Now I will have to start the whole stupid process all over again.
This confirms my worst suspicions about lenovo customer service....there is none.

My recommendation to anyone looking at Lenovo is to stay away. I cannot believe how agonizing this process has become.

Oh well, on to the THIRD attempt at getting the same problem fixed.

Something similar happened to my x100e when it came to repairs. I believe I sent it to them 5 or 6 times before I demanded my money back. The only thing I learned was that there a different places where they fix them. One of those was said to be a higher level than the other repair center. (That's what they told me.) You might want to look into that for better help. Hopefully.

Maybe you got the same people who kept trying to fix my laptop.... :p

How about purchasing onsite warranty? If you have a dodgy unit it might save you a lot of trouble.

I am going to ask them to give me my money back. It would be quite amazing if they did because it is a year old, but they are basically saving money by not constantly "trying" to fix the problem.

We'll see if I can get blood from the old turnip.

Getting your money back after owning for a while seems nearly impossible. Once I started demanding my money back, it seemed that I got better help with my issues. I ended up getting a replacement system from them after the issues kept coming.

I still don't understand how issues like this don't get fixed and are overlooked. I don't know if it's the people who work on them or the system itself. They need to work on issues like this more effectively.
