Has anyone that has a whiny x220 fan had it replaced recently? I had read a few people on the Lenovo forum who had theirs replaced and it fixed the noise.

Anyone given it a shot? Thinking about using onsite to replace. Although reading all the horror stories about onsite makes me weary of techs touch my tp. Wish they would just send me a new assembly over.

They're not going to send you a fan. If you want it fixed, then you should call.

Well, with on-site you could monitor the tech (as opposed to depot). Lenovo will not send you a fan assembly, as it is not a CRU.
