Recently my x220 cannot boot properly when I have it hooked up to the mini dock series 3. It takes me 4-5 hard resets before I can get it to boot. I have several external HDD connected to the dock, and when I remove them, the x220 boots just fine.

I have never had this problem until a week ago, and I haven't installed any programs since. Any clue what's going on? I'd prefer to be able to keep my HDD connected, rather than unplugging/plugging them in each time I boot up (defeats the purpose of a dock).

Strange that the issue just appeared spontaneously. I believe Lenovo did release some newer BIOS revisions that fixed some dock issues. Try updating your BIOS to the latest revision.

Do you have diagnostic boot enabled? If so, try using quick boot instead.

Also, have you pinpointed the drive that is causing the issue? What interface is it using?

I think I've pinpointed the issue. It only occurs when my USB 3.0 External is connected. It does not matter if its connected to the 3.0 port, or a 2.0 port, on or off the dock. I will try Midnight's suggestion of a BIOS update, if I can find a whitelist-free one.
