I don't think there has been enough time for the repaired X220's to start having problems.

In fact, both this forum and Lenovo forum have been relatively quiet about this issue for last 2-3 weeks.

I was cleaning out my inbox and followed a link to this post by Mark_Lenovo from earlier in the month.
Re: X220 - no post and green light around power bu... - Page 6 - Lenovo Community

This seems to imply systems with serials before R9-H are also possibly affected.

My X220 just started randomly shutting off.

    1. I tried removing one ram. Problem still there
    2. When the computer moves it randomly shuts off
    3. Putting it into sleep, unplugging the cord and waking it up results in instant power off
    4. While using either AC or battery the random shutoff is still there. Both during wakeup and normal use.
    5. Putting the computer to sleep, turning it over to attach a keyboard screw and the tuning it back made the sleep light go off and the computer powered off wile SLEEPING

    Is this a motherboard issue?

It can be keyboard issue as well, few dispatches of Lenovo were spotted with power key randomly holded problem since old T60 models till late X220.

@sz1a yours sounds like a different hardware issue. You could try removing the keyboard connector (after the system is powered on) and using a USB keyboard to test.

Replacing keyboard has resolved my sudden shutdowns (while in standby etc), i just put keyboard from T410 or T420 and that's did the job, fits nicely despite that on the inner side there are some differences. Couple of months already and no sign of a problem.
