Hey guys. I'm buying an x220. I was hoping maybe someone had some insider info on some other upcoming sales. I see they currently have a 15% off e-coupon. I've noticed over the last couple weeks that there seems to be an e-coupon of some sort going on pretty often. Do you think it's safe to wait for another deal? I need the laptop before the second week of September for school.

    Thanks :D

it is always safe to wait for another deal :D make sure when you think you get a decent price, quote it and save for later. A quote will be valid for 30 days.

Make a username/pword for the barnes and noble lenovo site and price one out. I just did a sample for you and an x220 with i5 2410, win7 home, webcam and IPS upgrade is $745 after the coupon. Add maybe a couple other upgrades and you're looking at a little over $800 after tax.

I went further and priced it out (most all upgrades but not i7) the same as the best deal I've seen in months which was a few weeks ago, and it came out to about $75 more now. So, if you wait you could probably save $50 average I would say, upwards of maybe $80. If you need it soon then it is still a good deal going through that site =) Hope this helps.

You can try this link or just google for it: http://shoplenovo.i2.com/SEUILibrar...-category-id=20E990072AB74EA5EA87218BF129CC11

Well, in my impatience I went ahead and ordered it with the 15% discount. The sale was about to end, and I saw that they had a 21-day price protection policy. That gave me enough time where I could get a bit of a refund if they have a large Labor Day sale or something. Total was $1125.40 before tax, with:

    i7-2620
    Windows 7 Home Premium
    4GB RAM
    320GB HDD
    IPS screen
    Fingerprint reader
    Bluetooth
    6-cell battery
    Intel 6300 WLAN

...and, go figure! The price thru the Barnes & Noble site is $1055. Do you know if that would qualify as part of the price protection program?

So I called Lenovo this morning and it was a simple process to arrange to have the difference of about $70 refunded. Thanks for the heads-up, dibbs!

I just had a price match submitted via chat. Lenovo is awesome. 78 bucks cheaper through the barnes and noble method!

Any information you get here is more than likely to be pure speculation. I'd suggest making a quote, which is good for 30 days. If it doesn't drop you've still got the quote. If it does drop you can get the better price. That's about all you can do. I thought the $710 I paid was pretty good, but I've seen it go for $20-25 less a few times, but there's no much one can do about it.

I checked with an agent and was told that unless the original order was from the B&N portal as well they would not be able to do a price match

Well, I just gave him my order number and made a quote on the B&N site. He basically gave me a choice - I could cancel the other order and re-order with the B&N price, or I could just get refunded the difference but the refund wouldn't apply until the order shipped. I chose the latter. So we'll see - my ship date is 8/31.
