I love my x220, but after a couple of months of normal use I have noticed the LCD bezel has become loose at the bottom. Probably enough to slip a quarter between the LCD and the bezel.

    2 questions:
    1. Anybody else have this?
    2. Will my warranty cover fixing it?

this problem did come out in several X220. If you are worried call the warranty service and they should take care of it.

Did you drop it? If there was no physical damage, as lead_org has stated, warranty should cover it.

FYI to anybody else with this problem, this is a "known issue" with tech support and is covered under warranty. I was mightily impressed with the person I talked to. It's rare that I feel better about a purchase AFTER talking with tech support. Kudos to Lenovo.

Do you know what Lenovo did to fix it? Did they replace the magnesium screen cover, the plastic bezel, or do something else entirely?

I have this issue too, and while I would prefer to have it fixed, I really don't feel like sending in my laptop over a minor cosmetic issue like this. For the time being I just used a bit of double-sided tape...

The bezel takes less than 5min to replace. See if they'll send you the part even though it's not a CRU.

Yeah, I know that replacing the bezel is trivial. Are you able to confirm, however, that it's the bezel that's the problem here? It could just as easily be the magnesium cover it's attached to, you know...

I sent mine off and will probably get it back in 3 days or so... I'll keep this thread updated.

Hi guys. I'm experiencing the same issues as mentioned above: the display bezel is loosening at the bottom as well. I called tech support but they told me engineers can't solve the problem; so they won't repair it.
It's hard for me to understand that warranty issues are not always treated in the same way, so I was wondering if it's possible to send me an invoice/extra information about the replacement of the bezel by Lenovo.

    Thanks

What country are you in? Different service regions have different tech support procedures.

If you're in the US, try again. It *is* the sort of thing covered by the warranty, and if you didn't abuse the notebook you *do* qualify for service.
