    hi guys,
    I recently got a x220t.
I would like to upgrade the hard drive on it. what are my options?

    - are there 2 hd bays inside?
    - what size can each take 7mm or 9mm (assume both 2.5inch) ?
    - anyone know what the largest available is out there? (not too concerned about ssd yet)
would like more size now...like 750gb or 1tb if possible

    thanks!

Officially the X220 Tablet can only take 7mm drives. Yes it is 2.5" SATA. SSDs can have the spacers removed to go from 9.5mm to 7mm. I think the maximum for 1 platter 7mm drives is 500 GB.

No the X220T only has 1 HDD bay BUT it can support mSATA SSD in the mini PCI-E slot + one 7mm HDD if you need the space, I'm sure ZaZ will recommend the same thing.

If you get the Ultrabase Series 3 for your X220t, that includes an Ultrabay Slim drive bay that accepts a DVD drive or 2nd Hard Disk Drive adapter.

Using the Renice X3 120gb mSata for OS and the 320gb platter drive for data in my X220T, spinning up the HDD only when needed.
