We are just rolling out some new x220t machines to students this week and are finding an issue with microphone volume. We are using a clean image with drivers from lenovo for conextant audio and conferencing settings. It appears the sound is ok for a few seconds and then rapidly quiets to zero. I am wondering if this is some kind of echo cancelation kicking in?

If I go into Control Panel -> Hardware and Sound -> Manage Audio Devices -> Recording -> Internal Microphone -> Advanced and then uncheck Enable Audio Enhancements. This seems to fix the issue.

Any ideas on what is happening and a better fix?
