The other day I was using my x230 on battery, and the level dropped suddenly from 40% to 6%, so I decided to do a battery gauge reset.

The charging has been stuck at 99% for a couple of hours now and I'm concerned that it will never reach 100% so that the reset moves to phase 2 where it discharges the battery.

I've noticed before that the battery never went past 99%, but it seemed like a minor detail, but for the sake of resetting the battery gauge, it seems essential that it reaches 100%.

Any insights on this? Should I leave the reset functionality running in hope that it knows what it's doing?

How many hours can it take to go from 99% to 100%?

    thanks

Finally started discharging.... I guess I didn't wait long enough.

Yep, when doing battery resets, it may appear to get stuck at various levels, when either charging or discharging. Just waiting it out is usually the solution!
