    is it possible to put the x230 500 gb hd in the x220 laptop? thanks!

    7mm 2.5" drive for both. So, mechanically and eletrically, it is possible to "put the x230 500 gb in the x220 laptop."

    You can reformat it as a storage drive (to be used in conjunction with a mSATA SSD), or restore/reinstall Windows onto it.
