    x230 screeching noise???

    Is it normal for the x230 to have a really high pitched screeching noise?? it sounds like it's coming from the fan or somewhere near there and you can hear it winding up getting higher pitched and then it lasts about a few seconds and goes away. My temps never went above 50-55 C so I was freaking out. Thought something was going to explode.

    Is this normal??

    Hm I opened it up and there was a tiny little piece of electrical tape that was sticking out and was hitting the fan causing the noise. Hopefully that resolved the problem.
