    Hi Folks
New to Lenovo and have a new x230 that requires some warranty work. When i called support there is no record of the upgraded warranty that i purchased (3 yrs next day onsite + accidental). The upgraded warranty was purchased when the machine was bought on the same purchase order number as the machine itslef. The machine and warranty were purchased directly from the lenovo website.

When i enter my serial number and machine type on the website, there is no indication of the extended warranty. I've tried multiple times via tech support to register the extended warranty but they tell me to email a "bpadmin" address with the informaiton. I do so, and either get no response or in a subsequent try got a "we only deal with warranty issues, please contact tech support".

So all in all, I am incredibly frustrated and I'm not sure what the correct path is to get someone from Lenovo to acknowledge the purchase of warranty directly from the website on the same purchase order of the machine itself.

    Can someone help me out?

    thanks

It's not unusual for the warranty database to take a few weeks or three before updating. Back in the day IBM used to have a separate warranty department that dealt with these issues. I don't know if that's the case with Lenovo, but I'd say if it's still within that timeframe then maybe you just want to wait and see if it updates, which it probably will. If you're past it and not making any headway, you might want to contact Mark over on the Lenovo forums. He'll probably may be able to get you an answer where others cannot. I've never heard of anyone being denied warranty coverage who purchased it. It'll all most likely work itself out, but be a little frustrating in the meantime. Congrats on the X230. It's the best ultraportable out there right now in my opinion.

Thank you for the reply Zaz. I ended up getting it resolved and the warranty is now acknowledged. I really love this laptop and i have been through ibooks, macbook pros and macbook airs. Its funny the complaints the legacy folk have about the keyboard change. For me, this is by far the best keyboard I have ever experienced on a notebook. Its just amazing.

I think both keyboards are very good and will have no problem buying one when that time arrives, though it's a long way off right now. If you're a long time ThinkPadder and have the keyboard layout burned into your synaptic pathways, then you'll probably never be happy. I myself have never been a shortcut user. I'm glad things worked out.
