Does anyone know if there is any way to adjust RAM settings for the x230? I currently have a pair of 1866 C10 Corsair Vengeance RAM from a past laptop, and I was hoping to install it in the x230. Unfortunately, it is super unstable, and I imagine it is because it is clocking it at an incompatible speed. Any way to check this?

RAM worked without issues in the previous system (M18x).

Its the brand. Their current line of performance RAM is flaky with Lenovo systems. If you check around the web, you'll see other Thinkpad people complaining about Corsair.

Someone in this forum also discovered that the X220 got a BIOS update that limited how fast the RAM could go-- performance RAM like 1866MHz would not run at full speed on the updated systems. You may want to investigate whether the X230 has the same limitation. There is a thread at Lenovo forums looking into how fast a T430s can drive 2133MHz PC3-17000 RAM, and it seems it will go to 2133MHz PC3-16000 and a dual channel throughput of about 26GB/sec.
