I've read the guide on doing a fresh/clean install of Windows 7 and I'm ready to go at it. Problem is I read that USB 3 ports are not supported yet during Win dows installation and that leaves me only one USB 2 port to hook up my DVD drive as well as needing that port to install some drivers at the same time using my thumb drive. . Is there any work around to get this install completed? I have not started yet.

That is incorrect. It picks up all the drives on all USB ports fine. I installed W7 from a usb 2.0 flash drive using the left side port. I don't think it'll work as usb 3.0 though during installation.

My X230t couldn't install from the external DVD drive that I had so I had to use a USB flash drive.

Ok, so it will recognize the USB device on the 3.0 port but just run at the slower USB 2 speed. Got it. Thanks for the info. I just wanted to make sure before I got started.

Appreciate all the replies. Onward I go!!

All done, everything worked well. I was able to use my LG DVD without any issues.

    Thanks again,
