    Hi everyone,

I recently received an x301 through work, and now I'm thinking of ways to get a firewire interface for it. Are there any options that I've overlooked?

It looks like there isn't a docking station available for it, will there be one in the future that would offer firewire, or at least an express card slot?

Or maybe the dvd drive bay is an option?

    Thanks!

If you don't care about speed you can get a USB 2.0 adaptor for firewire, or a hub that has both USB and firewire.

    I'm surprised the x301 doesn't have FW...even my T61 has a Firewire 400 mini-port.

That's interesting, I didn't know they existed. It would be used for on-site multitrack recording through an audio interface, so it probably wouldn't work so well. But it's always a last ditch option. Thanks!
