    Hi Guys,

We were throwing out an X41 at work as it's got a dead screen, but I decided the rest of the machine is too good to scrap, so I've taken it and decided to try and source a screen.

It's not a tablet X41, so has a standard 12.1" tft, it seems that these screens are hard to find though.

I was just wondeing if there is another 12.1" that the hardware will drive, I've seen some older 12.1" off of lenovo machines but don't know if they would work?

Any help would be much appreciated.

    Cheers,

You looked on eBay? You might want to post this in the marketplace forum over on ThinkPads.com. Another choice may be to buy another X41 with a broken mobo, but a good screen.

I've had a look on ebay but I've only seen tablet ones, I've just noticed an X30 12.1 screen though? Not sure if it would fit? I've rebuilt and played around with a fair few laptops at work, but always replaced screens with the same model, so not sure if you can plug the screen into the cable and invertor etc of another.

    I'll check out thinkpads.com too,

    Thanks,

Sorted, we had an x40 returned by a sales rep with a damaged HD and chasis, we were gonna chuck it so I took it home and switched screens, works a treat :) Free X41 :) Loving it too, saves carying my XPS or fat R'series laptops around.
