Does anyone know if the x60 panels are TN or PVA/MVA? (or both?). I've found three different part numbers for replacement panels, but google searches do not turn up any information on the panel-type of these part numbers.
FYI: I know some of the x60s tablets use IPS, but I don't want to get off-track on that subject. I'm only talking about the non-tablet x60 with a 1024x768 display.

They're TN panels.

Thanks for the reply. Anyone know of any Thinkpad notebooks that use PVA/MVA panels?

I think they were using a Samsung PVA panel on earlier multitouch X200t tablet screens, but now they're offering all IPS/FFS screens, which are probably better than PVA/MVA panels, though both are very good. The last non-tablet to have a IPS/FFS option was the T60. If you're looking for a small notebook with a good screen with a good screen, you can buy the X200 and swap in an AFFS screen. See here. It looks like a pretty straight forward operation though I've never done it on the X200. You can do it on the X6x too, but it's much more involved. That's the best you'll do for a good screen.
