    K guys I'm concerned with my x60.

Last night I was trying to transcode a .avi file to put onto a dvd when my computer kept on just crashing.

On the nero forum they suggested I download a monitor program and see if its over heating, and it was big time.

Any thoughts on what I should do?

What are the temperatures for you HDD and CPU?
How long have you had your notebook for? (if its been a while, you may want to clean the heatsink/fan since they can collect dust and cause overheating issues)
Lastly, try using a cooling pad. This should lower your temperatures quite a bit.

Definitely try dusting out your heatsinks and CPU fan. I just did that recently and it dramatically decreased the temperatures of my z61m.

Google up tpfancontrol, and use that to read all of your temps. That program will list off about 8-10 zones specific to the thinkpad, and give you a clear idea of where to correct the problem.
