Don't have time to test it myself at the moment.

Changelog:
Prior v.2 bioses has not been released to the public if I understand it correctly. So this is replacing 1.10 or 1.11 which isn't mentioned.
What I'm wondering about is the power management. So far I've been using 1.11 and loving it eventhough it has some bugs. Those I can accept for better battery-life. Wondering if this is the best of both worlds though. Unfortunately they don't mention anything about power management.

What will improve by updating one's laptop bios?
-
It can improve performance quite a lot.
But most often it's just some minor fixes.
There have been some differences in power management in previous BIOS versions (affecting battery-life for instance) so thats what I'm personally looking for.
But you can see from the changelog what they've changed (although they are not always complete). New processor support might be Core 2 Duo for the x60. -
Bios v1.11 had major improvements in power mgmt, at least that's what me an other posters found (i have actually run for well over 8 hours with light use). But this bios was withdrawn because for some unknown reason, it reportedly made some machines unable to boot!! Tho i've not had that problem even tho i've been running v1.11 for months.

Nice to have new BIOS update, but if it ain't broke, do nothing.
-
I guess that is a good way of looking at things, can't say I disagree.
-
But you should always be cautioned when updating the BIOS. It can mess things up badly and therefor you shouldn't do it the night before an big presentation or something
Nothing was broke with the BIOS I got with the x60s but I upgraded to 1.11 and also saw the improved power management. Since battery-life was one of the main reasons for buying the x60s in the first place that was great.
But since an laptop-failure at this time wouldn't be so fun I'm probably going to wait a month. -
Does anyone who's running 1.11 have a problem with only seeing the 40hz and 50hz refresh rates as options. I have to go back (2) Intel Video Drivers to get 60hz to show up.
Should I try to fix this or is this not a big problem? -
I don't see 60 Hz anymore either. Doesn't bother me though. Always uses 50 Hz anyway.
The last video-drivers however seems to reset it to 40 Hz reguarly, and that or something else prevents the presentation-shortcuts to work so I have to set it up manually every time (both the frequency and the resolution and such for any other display).
Quite annoying. -
I also get the annoying 40hz reset every reboot.
I want to see is the new BIOS helps but I don't want to lose the 1.11 option.
