    hi,

i'd like to know if the x61 support the sata 2 and if yes, if this will harm the battery life ?

i get an HTS722016K9S with my x61 and hitachi releases a software to modify the noise and the sata settings

    does anyone try it ?

I think he's just asking whether you can use SATA-II harddrive in the X61, and the answer to that is yes, you can.
It supports SATA-II interface but SATA-II speed.

Zephir is right. The x61 (and T61/R61) will support a SATA II device, but it will operate at SATA I speed.

This isn't a problem with any hard drive, or most SSDs, but the very fast SSDs (e.g. Intel X-25m) will have reduced read speeds as a result of the SATA I interface.

Conversely, the x200, T400, R400, W500, etc. all support SATA II devices at SATA II speed.
