I am considering replacing my T61P which has a faulty display with a x61 or x61s. It would be great if current owners could take the vote below to help out on the decision.

    Thanks much!

You might want to add the X61 Tablet to the voting options as well, in case tablet owners decide to vote as well (potentially diluting the results for the non-tablet X61).
In example, I have read quite a few posts about X60/61 Tablet users being dissatisfied.

As for me, I love my X61. No issues at all. The few minor hick-ups which occur every now and then are software related, and can be attributed to Vista shortcomings and not the X61 itself. The notebook itself is very stable and very fast. By far the best ultraportable I have owned based on performance-to-weight-ratio, stabilty, batterylife-to-performance-ratio.

I suggest you get it with the 4-cell enhanced battery (which goes flush with the back and is very lightweight) and get the 8-cell as an extra source of battery for when you need it for extended use on the go.

Last but not least, if you haven't already, I suggest you read the two reviews made on this site of the X61 and the X61s.

Hello pro101. I have got my X61 2 months ago and sincerely I love it. For what I need is the best notebook ever.

The 12" monitor is not too big and too small, it's just perfect. The 120 Gb HDD, 1Gb RAM is more than enough. And what i like most about it is the 3 pounds weight. It's so light that you almost don't feel it in the bag.

For DVDs and CDs I got an external DVD-RW lightscribe.

And one more thing: i didn't buy it from lenovo.com i bought it from an online store ( I was afraid that it would be a lime because it was $200 cheaper than from lenovo.com but there are no problems so far)

I would certainly advise you to buy this one (or the X61 if you want it 300g lighter)

    P.S. i agree with JabbaJabba

I have the X61s and love it. It's incredibly portable. Only complaints are a loose battery bay and a stuck green pixel that I can't get rid of.

I'm glad you went for it Sirius and that you are happy about your choice. I guess I managed to convince you the last time I praised my X61 :)

As for the battery bay being "loose", it is normal. But when the battery lock is engaged, the battery should not move more than about 1mm or so.

Thanks guys. Apart from the dead pixel, how is the display? Do colors look like what they should?
