This could be a dumb question.

I got my x61 last night, everything's fine but only the adaptor gets really hot after using like 1-2 hours. Is that normal for a x series thinkpad?

My last thinkpad was t40 and I don't remember I had this problem, although the t series has a larger adaptor than x (if I remember it right?)

    Thanks guys.

(maybe I should mention how "really hot" it is-- it hurts me a little, if I touch the adaptor...)

    I hope not....

there must be someone having it from other retailing stores right? Because before I got mine, there's been a x61 review for quite a few days...

The 65w adapter will get quite warm during heavy activity on your laptop, like charging while running the laptop for example. My 65w does this, and it hasnt had any problems in the past year. The only situation where I was really concerned was during last years vacation where the temp was pushing 95F, no AC. I had to adapter propped up spanning 2 soda cans to allow air to flow all around it to keep the temps down.
