I'm thinking of buying a x61 in a week or two and i was wondering about its noise. I was wondering if someone could tell me or make a video on its noise when you're doing simple tasks like word processing, when you're surfing the web (wifi on), and more harder tasks like gaming. thanks.

It really isn't noisy at all, under harder tasks it gets warm and slightly audible but not that bad.

On rare occasions I sometimes get a static type sound when I used the trackpoint. Its weird but never bothers me too much.

Overall I would rate the x61 as very quiet.

Turn off the USB power saving and it will stop.
