I am planning on buying an X61 (non-tablet version) in the near future. Does anyone know if Lenovo will be offering the SXGA+ resolution screens for these models anytime soon? It seems that is used to be an option on the tablet version. Just wondering if it is worth the wait. Thanks.

It would be a first, as far as I know, for anyone to offer sxga+ on a 12.1 (non-tablet). I would doubt it, as the sxga+ screen is a special tablet display, but hopefully I'm wrong.

I really don't know why you would need a higher resolution at a 12" monitor. 1024x768 I think is optimum.

that is one thing that has bugged me. The X60 Tablet actually does offer a SXGA+ option @ 1400x1050, yet the non-tablet X60 doesn't. Why can't they just slap a stylus/touch-less version of that panel on the X60?! =[

have had my x61s for about a week. I can say that my 15" mac book pro looks MAMMOTH compared to it. That said, 1024x768 is actually VERY tolerable at a 12" screen size. I too would have really liked a SXGA+ screen, but don't get too stressed about it as I did (took me about 2 weeks to cave), it isn't a deal breaker in my opinion.

If you have an external monitor, it works very well. I bought an ultrabase for work and home and am loving it.
