This static read-only archive was pulled by NBR forum users between January 20 and January 31, 2022, in an effort to make sure that the valuable technical information that had been posted on the forums is preserved. For current discussions, many NBR forum users moved over to NotebookTalk.net after the shutdown.

    If this is an important feature to you, head over to Lenovo Forums, and let them now it is, and what you use the feature for. Lenovo Insiders are interested in finding out how interested users are in the feature.

    Yes integrated audio cards are inferior to professional audio cards, but the background on the thread over at the forums, includes the fact that these notebooks have had the stereo mix feature disabled (apparently via hardware), and the pcmcia controller on these models are incompatible with pcmcia sound card solutions.

    Models that have express card slots, can use express card slot solutions.

    I already posted my concerns over there, but is seems as the thread has died. I DO have use for stereo mix and am very upset that it's not available. What bothers me the most is that it was and still is advertised as a feature on my model. It clearly states "16-bit and 8-bit stereo playback and recording". False advertising at it's finest...
