For X61 with 4 cell battery , how long does the battery last for normal use?
(i really do not like the 8 cell battery sticking out.)

i want to format HDD and reinstall XP Pro with partitions.
the external USB CD Rom will be detected automatically?
if not, what is the way to clean install for X61? (no X6 Ultrabase)

    thank you in advance.

USB stick or USB HD. Many many methods can do.
