How many entries do you have under Display adapters in Device Manager? I have the Mobile Intel 965 Express Chipset Family listed twice. Should it be there twice?

    Does it effect the performance?

All late Intel integrated graphics on laptops are in pairs in Device Manager, its nothing out of the ordinary.
Maybe the reason is that one device is for the internal LCD, the other one for the VGA output.

Okay, I get that, it makes sense. Should I also have 5 monitors listed in Device Manager? I have only one laptop screen and have never connected a second monitor. Also, none of the monitors are the correct one.

The reason I ask is because when I was using Vista I didn't have all those monitors. Now my screen flickers on startup.
