Hi, I have an x61s with windows vista home basic installed. When I put the computer into sleep mode, sometimes the sleep mode is successful, and other times it is not. When it fails, the screen usually turns black, and nothing else happens (hdd still keeps running, wifi light still on, etc.) and then after about 10 minutes the machine blue screens and restarts.

Does anyone have a fix for this or know why it happens?

Have you installed the latest updates from Windows Update? Do you have the latest video drivers?

I've installed aall the latest windows and lenovo updates. There is one windows module update that refuses to install in the lenovo update, however, but its description says nothing about sleep or anything pertaining to that.

Maybe a BIOS update might help also.

Ya, x61 got a new bios update yesterday, nothing major. I think that it might be your page filing not closing down correctly to stop it from going into the sleep that it is supposed to be.
