I have a y400 laptop and my USB 3.0 flash drive only appears the first time that it is plugged in after being formatted, I was hoping someone had some ideas on the issue, it should be noted that the OS is windows 8.

    Thanks in advance
    Jake

That shouldn't be an issue as Windows 8 supports USB 3.0 natively, that being said, I went to the site you mentioned and there was no USB 3.0 driver for download, it just says "USB 3.0-free drive (automatic identification)" with no download button after.

Nobody panic, problem solved, I just had to play around with some BIOS settings to git it to work, for starters I turned on legacy boot support, then I disabled safe boot, then I enabled Intel Virtualization technology and enabled the always on USB port charging (unrelated, but a useful thing to do)
