I've been trying to downgrade out of Win8 for a week now with no success. I've changed my BIOS settings like this guy said on the Lenovo forums
But I wasn't successful. The problem is that whenever I try to boot from my mounted USB or my Win7 Install disc it never says "Press any key to boot from CD" thing it always says. I was wondering if anyone successfully downgraded and if so can you PLEASE give me a guide on how to do this.

    Thanks in advance. :)

I installed Win 7 Ultimate on my Y410p from a bootable Win 7 USB drive, but I don't quite remember the steps. Certainly UEFI should be disabled, and legacy mode should be selected, but I definitely did not have to set as many things to disabled.

If you don't get an answer soon, I'll reboot and check my current settings.

Here are the relevant sections from my BIOS:

    Under Configuration:

    USB Legacy: Enabled
    SATA Controller Mode: AHCI

    Under Boot:

    Boot Mode: Legacy Support
    Boot Priority: Legacy First
    USB Boot: Enabled

I see no Secure Boot, Quick Boot, OS Optimized and a few of the other options in the BIOS listed in your original post. Maybe it's somewhere else?

But you don't need to follow an instruction set blindly. Just understand that Windows 8 has messed up security requirements in order to boot up, thanks to Microsoft trying to lock out Linux. So anything related to UEFI, enhanced security, new blah, blah, has to be disabled in order for Windows 7 and Linux to work.

hey, to install windows 7 from windows 8 you will have 3 option to choose.

    1. format the entire HDD to change the partition layout from GPT to MBR because windows 7 cannot install to GPT disk under legacy boot. you will see error "windows cannot install to GPT disk" when you choosing a partition in windows 7 installer. after you format, it will install smoothly using legacy boot. but this method will erase your recovery partition.

    2. insert the windows 7 disk when running windows 8, and install the windows 7 through there. it will rename your current windows installation to windows.old, this method will install windows 7 under UEFI but it will be considered as "dirty install" because you didn't format the partition.

    3. create a windows 7 USB installation that can boot using UEFI, so you can install the windows 7 into GPT disk and will boot the windows in UEFI. this is the method im using right now. btw, this is tutorial to create USB installation that can boot using UEFI Link

    hope this help =D

So I FINALLY got it thanks to you guys. Problem I'm facing now is that when I tried to play a game earlier (Mabinogi) it uses the Intel HD 4600 chipset instead of my GT 750M card. I have my driver for the graphics card updated and all, but it'll use the Intel chipset instead. Also ingame I have 2 black bars on the sides of the screen and the game looks ridiculous like that.

Thanks but I tried that a couple of hours ago, doesn't work. Also when I run dxdiag it tells me I'm running Intel HD 4600, and says nothing about the Nvidia card.
